Salvatore D’Oro joined the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) at Northeastern University (USA) in 2017 where is now a Research Associate Professor. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Catania in 2015. He serves on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of several international conferences such as IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE CCNC, IEEE ICC and IFIP Networking, and is an Associate Editor of the Elsevier Computer Communications journal. He is one of the contributors to OpenRAN Gym, the first open-source research platform for AI/ML applications in the Open RAN. His research focuses on AI and optimization for wireless network, with specific focus on Open RAN system and NextG cellular networks.
